Happy Birthday. Hail Satan. Muach.
Longlegs builds an ambience that is tense, suspenseful and terrifying. The opening of this film is very good, i think this is the best opening so far, which made me immediately sit down and stare seriously. Assisted by creativity and good shot technique. Everything is wrapped up well by directing from Osgood Perkins.
Even though the storytelling style is slowburn, it always makes us curious about what happens next, especially the main character namely Lee Harker, played by Maika Monroe, an FBI who is hunting an 'artsy' serial killer who calls himself Longlegs. There are no ghost appearances here, but the scenes are very disturbing and brutal.
Not only is the storytelling style simple, the audio and visuals of this film are very creepy. All the puzzles are well constructed too. The terror given is also shocking.
Maika Monroe performance so very brilliant and the one and only, Nicolas Cage who are intimidating even though they don't appear too much.
I really like this film.
