Super duper on the fence on seeing this one initially cause reviews were just ok ish, but decided to go see it on the last showtime as I didn't wanna regret missing it. Lo and behold was I super glad on seeing it! Exceeded my expectations, maybe I'm just a sucker for movies with great heroines. I already know Ackie will deliver since she played Whitney, but oh my who knew Adria Arjona, the Ramirez from Fortnite, also delivered! A great debut from Zoe Kravitz, story kinda didn't make sense in a way but who cares as long as it's enjoyable. Act 1 overstayed its welcome tho, but finale was superb! They also used many stress inducing sound effects despite the over the top bright cinematography. All in all, an unexpected surprise!

Haven't watched the original and haven't intended to, went it solely sold on the kinda deceiving trailer? Rumah Dinas Bapak trailer 2.0 here. Both movies were ok, but the trailers were much funnier imho. I think the overhype carried the film, still prefer Agak Laen tbh. You don't have to doubt the acting chops tho, mostly A listers here. Humor is subjective tho, just kinda wished it were funnier for me.

Regardless of all the "drama" surrounding the cast right now, this is still an essential viewing if you enjoy drama. Baldoni did this movie justice imho

Never dabbled in the franchise as I was never much of a fan of sci-fi, but once I heard Fede Alvarez is at the helm with rising star Cailee Spaeny, I was on board. Evil Dead 2013 & Don't Breathe were both such chef's kiss and this 1 didn't disappoint. Story was kinda throwback fan service kinda thingy but I don't mind it as the tension was enough, buildup took quite some time tho. Both score & cinematography were also complementary to add to the tension.

DON'T BOTHER with the 0% Rotten 🍅 rating! I'm glad I didn't, cause I really enjoyed it! If you're a fan of Cate B & Jamie Lee, definitely go see this! I never cud resist when 2 powerhouse Oscar actresses share a screen! 🫶🏼

Pity Eli Roth was restricted to a PG-13 rating tho, I definitely cud see this being more interesting had they chosen to go with at least an R rating.

Oh, I haven't played any of the games btw. Perhaps that's why I cud enjoy this more than other viewers who mostly slammed this movie. Can't believe they even went as far as to label this "Grandmas in Space"! The audacity!! Well, those grandmas each sport their own Oscar in case you've been livin in a nutshell.

Same diff with Heartbreak Motel is how I felt about this. Both started with me being super hyped to see em, but after watching, both turned out to be not as I expected them to be which led to me not really enjoying em as I initially hoped for.

I kinda expected to have lotsa LoL moments which I didn't get unfortunately. I know that they blended horror, comedy & drama, but I kinda wished they'd up the ante more on the comedy. The way I see it this was more drama with just a teensy bit of horror & comedy thrown in. Even the horror was more prominent than the comedy.

Acting wise, always such a joy to see Putri Ayudya. Mbak Putri & Yasamin kinda carried the movie on the acting front.

On another note, the score kinda gave me Stranger Things vibe and vibing I was! Such a nice direction they decided to go there, chef's kiss! 🥴🤌🏽
