While it's of course impossible to top 1992's Swordsman II both in actions & ensemble as the best partly-adaptation of Jin Yong's The Smiling Proud Wanderer (Pendekar Hina Kelana), #InvincibleSwordsman fights its way with CGI-heavy presentation, Sammo Hung's brief appearance. and Tim Huang's proper lead, yet the most powerful aspect to brace it as still, a decent remake more than just a loose reimagining, is Kitty Zhang's Dong Fang Bubai - that's if never as strong, but at least come close to the persona of Brigitte Lin in her such legendary role.
By overall scale, being an iQIYI's premium product, co-produced by Wong Jing, too, #InvincibleSwordsman still looks very grand but also feel lesser than both #LegendsOfCondorHeroes and #CreationOfTheGods.
