Final Destination but with drumming monkey as Oz Perkins' device to expand Stephen King's source metaphors to generational traumas, an extra topping indie horrors these days need to stamp it 'indie', A24-classy or Neon-fitted, #TheMonkey does drum like an absolute banger if you just stick to the gorefest carnage and let all (too) long-range, far-fetched storytelling bygones be bygones. Theo James is really good here.
