Through the cringe & the cheer, CINTA TAK SEINDAH DRAMA KOREA (Meira Anastasia, 2024) embraces the dramaturgy of K-Drama too dearly, almost nulling the titular dissimilarity. This is a true, localized K-Drama — which is good (or bad) depending on the viewer’s stance on the genre. If the lack of subtleties, constant detours and filler-y subplots alienate you from K-drama, the very same thing would seem to put you off on this one; vice versa. But, you can feel that this film is crafted by an avid fan of the genre. It’s sweet, silly & expectedly indulgent.
